How it works
A 'refund if' offer pays money back when something happens in the game, such as a 0-0 or a red card. Stage one is a normal back and lay that costs a small qualifying loss. Stage two lays the trigger event, so the refund's counted value is spread across both ways it can go.
Worked through
A £10 bet at 3.0, laid at 3.1, on an offer that refunds up to £10 if the trigger happens, kept at 80%. The trigger is laid at 9.0. Both lays use 2% commission.

Stage one alone costs £0.45. The refund counts as £8.00, and the trigger lay spreads it so the trigger happening and not happening both finish on £0.42, the Profit figure. It rests on the retention entered.
Questions
What retention should I use?
The share of the refund you expect to keep after using it, as a percentage. The refund counts as the maximum refund multiplied by that share.
Which lay odds are which?
The calculator has two Lay Odds fields. The first is the lay of your selection, the same bet as stage one. The second, under the refund details, is the lay of the trigger event, such as 0-0 in the correct score market.
