Middle
A middle is a bet on two sides of a handicap or totals line where a range of results wins both, with the rest losing only the margin.
A middle backs, say, over 2.5 and under 3.5 goals at different books: if exactly three goals are scored, both win. Otherwise one wins and one loses, costing only a small net amount. It is a low-risk, high-upside cousin of arbitrage.
Finding middles needs aligned totals and handicap lines across books, which is exactly what normalisation provides in a clean feed.
