Matched feed
A matched feed delivers bookmaker back prices already paired against exchange lay prices, so a product skips building its own matcher.
Pairing is the slow half of an oddsmatcher to build. Every bookmaker names a fixture and its selections its own way, and each one has to be lined up with the right exchange market before a back price and a lay price can sit side by side. A matched feed hands that work over finished, one entry per selection, with the money available at each lay price attached.
What is left for the product is arithmetic. From back[0].price, lay[0].price and the customer's own exchange commission, the lay stake and the qualifying loss take one line each, and sorting on them gives the familiar oddsmatcher table. The feed carries no rating field. That figure depends on a commission rate only the customer knows, so the tool works it out.
In OddsRelay the matched feed is GET /v2/odds/ plus a feed type, one of six: standard, each-way, extra-place, bog, dutching and 2up. The reply's meta names the feed_type and region, and each event's markets[] hold outcomes whose back[] runs best price first and whose lay runs lowest price first, every lay offer carrying exchange, price, available and link. On each-way and extra-place, lay splits into win and place arrays, and dutching carries back legs only, grouped by dutch_id.
A matched pair carries no time of its own. The response's time is meta.processed_at, the same value as the X-Processed-At header, and meta.last_seen gives, per bookmaker and sport, when that bookmaker was last read. The feed is pre-match and requested by the product, and sending the last ETag back as If-None-Match returns a 304 with no body, free, when nothing has changed.
Pairs are gated on lay liquidity, so an exchange price with no money behind it never becomes a pair. Teams that would rather do their own pairing take GET /v2/odds/raw, where each bookmaker's prices arrive separately with their own last_update. The matched feed is for everyone else, and the work it removes is collecting prices from each bookmaker yourself, naming every fixture one way, pairing each selection with its exchange market and keeping every pair current.
