How it works
A Lucky 31 takes five selections and backs every combination of them: five singles, ten doubles, ten trebles, five fourfolds and a fivefold. Each way doubles that to 62 bets. Type each price as a fraction or a decimal, set how each selection finished, and the calculator settles all of them together.
What's in a Lucky 31
The stake you enter is for each bet. Each way, every bet has a win part and a place part. For any other bet, from a single to a Goliath, use the bet calculator.
| Bets | Win only | Each way |
|---|---|---|
| Singles | 5 | 10 |
| Doubles | 10 | 20 |
| Trebles | 10 | 20 |
| Fourfolds | 5 | 10 |
| Fivefolds | 1 | 2 |
| All bets | 31 | 62 |
Worked through
A £0.50 Lucky 31 at 2/1, 5/2, 6/4, 4/1 and 3/1: 31 bets, £15.50 in all. The 2/1, the 5/2 and the 4/1 won and the 6/4 and the 3/1 lost.
| Bets | Count | Return |
|---|---|---|
| Singles | 5 | £5.75 |
| Doubles | 10 | £21.50 |
| Trebles | 10 | £26.25 |
| Fourfolds | 5 | £0.00 |
| Fivefolds | 1 | £0.00 |
| It shows | Value |
|---|---|
| Total stake | £15.50 |
| Total return | £53.50 |
| Net return | £38.00 |
Three winners from five pay three singles, three doubles and one treble. The treble alone returns £26.25, more than the £5.75 from the singles.
Questions
Is a Lucky 31 a Canadian with singles?
Yes. A Canadian, also called a Super Yankee, is the same five selections without the singles, which leaves 26 bets. The five singles make it a Lucky 31.
How many winners does a Lucky 31 need?
One winner returns something, from its single. Whether one winner covers the total stake depends on its price, since the stake paid for 31 bets.
Can I mix fractional and decimal odds?
Yes. Each odds field reads a fraction such as 11/4, a decimal such as 3.75, or evens.
