How it works
A Lucky 15 covers four selections in every combination: four singles, six doubles, four trebles and a fourfold. One winner is enough for a return, from its single. Each way adds a place part to all 15 bets, making 30 at the same stake. Enter each price and result, and the table under the totals shows what each group of bets paid.
What's in a Lucky 15
The stake you enter is for each bet. Each way, every bet has a win part and a place part. For any other bet, from a single to a Goliath, use the bet calculator.
| Bets | Win only | Each way |
|---|---|---|
| Singles | 4 | 8 |
| Doubles | 6 | 12 |
| Trebles | 4 | 8 |
| Fourfolds | 1 | 2 |
| All bets | 15 | 30 |
Worked through
A £1 each-way Lucky 15 at 3/1, 5/1, 9/2 and 7/1, with place terms of 1/4 the odds: 30 bets, £30.00 in all. The 3/1 and the 7/1 won, the 5/1 was placed and the 9/2 lost.
| Bets | Count | Return |
|---|---|---|
| Singles | 8 | £18.75 |
| Doubles | 12 | £46.93 |
| Trebles | 8 | £10.82 |
| Fourfolds | 2 | £0.00 |
| It shows | Value |
|---|---|
| Total stake | £30.00 |
| Total return | £76.51 |
| Net return | £46.51 |
The two winners pay £44.00 on the win side, from their singles and the double they share. The place side pays £32.51, because the placed selection counts there too. The fourfold needs all four and pays nothing.
Questions
What's the difference between a Lucky 15 and a Yankee?
A Yankee is the same four selections without the four singles, so it is 11 bets instead of 15. With no singles, a Yankee needs two winners to return anything.
What happens to a Lucky 15 with a non-runner?
Set that selection to Non-runner. Its single is returned, and every multiple it is in settles on the selections that ran, so a treble with a non-runner pays as a double.
Are Lucky 15 bonuses included?
No. Many bookmakers pay extra odds when only one selection wins, or a bonus when all four do. Those terms differ from one bookmaker to the next, so the calculator settles the bet without them.
